Tapbots released Tweetbot for Mac as a public alpha today. Matthew Panzarino has a first look at the app and small interview with Tapbots’ Paul Haddad.

I’ve been using Tweetbot for the past hour or so and it’s been terrific. If you’re hesitant to download unfinished software, it’s very, very usable, so don’t worry.

What interested me, though, is how Tapbots promoted it. They left little Easter eggs or oblique references here and there on Twitter in the past few days, suggesting it was coming. Smart.
