Patent Company Seeks Licenses From Iconfactory

July 15th, 2011

An Indian patent company (by which I mean a front company that files bullshit patents and uses them to steal from other, real companies that are actually creating real products) sent notices to a number of companies today that they may be infringing on their soon-to-be-granted patent.

The companies include Twitter, RIM, Apple and Iconfactory.

Yeah. Iconfactory.

Software patents aren’t protecting people who have genuinely invented something. They’re allowing people who are apparently too stupid or too lazy to earn a living to steal from people who actually create value. They allow, if you’ll forgive me, scum-infested parasitic companies like this to exist and make money.
