Readability’s Paid Reading Platform Integrates with Instapaper

January 31st, 2011

Readability just a new version of their service, and it’s incredibly exciting:

We’re turning Readability into a monthly subscription service with a unique twist: the great majority of your fees (70%) will go directly to the writers and publishers you enjoy. We’re tethering a small, passive transaction to the reading decisions you make through the platform. You can even publicly share the top domains you’re enjoying through Readability. It’s a new type of badge: “I support these writers & publishers.”

So, if you subscribe to Readability and click your Readability bookmarklet on an article, the writer receives a percentage of your subscription.

That’s awesome, but here’s where it gets better. They are partnering with Instapaper, so if you set it up, all of your Instapaper activity will be sent to your Readability account.

Basically, by reading content in Instapaper, you will be directly supporting your favorite writers.

I am registering TightWind as a publisher and will be subscribing to Readability. I suggest you all do the same—this is exciting for everyone involved.
